Candace Queen Creative
Candace is a Sr. Digital Designer and Art Director with one foot in Chicago, IL and the other in Houston, TX. As the Creative Principal of Candace Queen Creative, her areas of expertise include, social media marketing, experiential design, and art curation.
She’s worked with a range of agencies, brands and organizations including Cantu Beauty, ALDI (SapientRazorfish), Sprint (DigitasLBi), Miller Lite (DigitasLBi), ADCOLOR, and the 4A’s. You can also find her exploring surrealism under her art studio moniker, meroë & co., driving change within the Black community through branding and design with her initiative, Hansberry Group, and building her organization, Blacks in Advertising.
In 2017 Candace was named one of the “100 People Who Make Advertising Great” by the 4A’s, adding to her list of accolades including, 4A’s MAIPer to Watch (2017), The Bill Sharp Award for the Future of Advertising presented by J. Walter Thompson and the Sharp Family (2014), and being selected as an ADCOLOR® FUTURE (2014).
In addition to her creative work she also serves on the MAIP Alumni Association Executive Council, ADCOLOR Advisory Board, AAF Mosaic Next Generation Leadership Council, and the Coalesce Chicago Advisory Board. Passionate about all things Trill, Chopped and Screwed, her work reflects her roots in Southeast Texas, as well as her love for people, exploring new technology and hacking culture codes.
